The Hajj is the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is obligatory for all Muslims who are physically and financially able to undertake the journey at least once in their lifetime. The Hajj begins on the eighth day of the last month of the Islamic lunar year.
The Hajj is a time for reflection and celebration, when more than two million Muslims from around the world gather together to celebrate their faith. At Mecca, the pilgrims perform many rituals, including walking seven times around the sacred shrine of Kaaba.
