Important Event
Nativity Fast is a fasting period observed by Eastern Orthodox Christians in preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. According to the Julian calendar, it begins on November 28 and lasts for 40 days until January 6, leading up to Christmas. For churches following the Gregorian calendar, it begins on November 15.
During Nativity Fast, believers abstain from certain foods, especially meat and dairy products, and engage in increased prayer, reflection, and acts of charity. The fasting period serves as a spiritual journey to purify the soul and prepare for the joyous celebration of Christ’s birth.
