Khordad Sal marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Zarathushtra (Zoroaster in Greek), the founder of Zoroastrianism. Although the exact date of his birth remains a subject of historical debate, Khordad Sal is traditionally observed on the 6th day of the Zoroastrian month of Farvardin, which usually falls in late March or early April.

This day is a time of joyous celebration, where Zoroastrians gather for communal prayers, feasting, and festivities to honor the life and teachings of Prophet Zarathushtra. His teachings, which emphasize the importance of good thoughts, good words, and good deeds, have had a profound influence on the development of Zoroastrianism as one of the world’s oldest monotheistic religions, dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE in ancient Persia.
