Happy Samhain

Samhain is a significant Celtic holiday that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. With its roots in ancient Gaelic traditions, it is celebrated as a time when the boundary between the spirit world and the mortal realm is believed to be the thinnest.

It is considered one of the four quarterly fire festivals that take place at the midpoint between the fall equinox and the winter solstice. During this pagan religious festival, communities come together around bonfires, don costumes, and carve jack-o’-lanterns to ward off malevolent spirits.

Traditionally, It is a time to honor and welcome ancestral spirits, share feasts, and reflect on the cycle of life and death. In Ireland, there is a military aspect to celebrate with holiday thrones that are prepared for commanders and high-level officers.

Samhain holds a sense of mystique, with its connection to the unseen and the opportunity for introspection. It invites individuals to embrace the magic of the changing seasons, pay homage to their ancestors, and find solace in the cyclical nature of existence.
