Simchat Torah is celebrated at the end of the Sukkot festival, usually in late September or early October. It marks the completion of the annual cycle of reading the Torah, the sacred scriptures of Judaism. On this joyous day, Jews around the world gather in synagogues to sing, dance, and express their love for the Torah.
The Torah scrolls are taken out of the Ark and paraded around the synagogue in a festive procession known as “hakafot.” It is a time of great celebration and appreciation for the teachings and wisdom contained within the Torah, as well as an opportunity to start the reading cycle anew.
